Piezo actuators don't usually have a lot of travel. On the other hand, as already said, hybrid stages (that have piezo systems on position encoder) permit tens of mm travel range with hundreds of nm (typically 0.1 um) position accuracy and repeatibility. Lot of good commercially available products in this case. Write me if you want more details on our choice.
