A position is available for a microscopy research associate in the Advanced Bio-
Optics Imaging Laboratory at the University of Texas Medical Branch
(Galveston, TX) . The position involves research utilizing advanced optical
microscopy techniques (primarily multiphoton microscopy and second harmonic
generation microscopy) toward the noninvasive staging of oral precancers and
cancer. Research responsibilities include 1) implementation of advanced
microscopy to develop optical staging strategies for oral precancers/cancer, 2)
optical instrumentation tasks / development, and 3) image processing.
Highly motivated candidates who work well in teams but can work
independently and have demonstrated excellence in presentation and
publication of scientific results are desired.
