question about FV1000 z-scan

I have an FV1000 without the ZDC option.

Does anyone on list know how to set the instrument to a z-scan
relative to the current z-position?

This is important because if i set up a multipoint acquisition, and then
for some reason the z-position changes (eg, the program needed to be
restarted) then the z-position value is not preserved (ie, the focus is
now at a very different z-value).
Now, not only do I have to register the points at the new z-value, I
have ot change all of the start and stop positions, and for many points,
this is a real pain and for time sensitive experiments, it makes the
experiment impossible to do.

Another example is if I "set 0" for the z-position -- it does not update
the start and stop values.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
