systemic calcium dye application

Search the CONFOCAL archive at http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal

Dear List,

I wonder if anybody has experience with the systemic application of AM ester of calcium dyes like Fluo-4 or Fura-2 in living mice.

What other problems than the high costs per experiment would I have to expect?

I’m thinking of toxicity or similar.

Thanks for the help,

Stephan

RE: systemic calcium dye application

This paper shows acumulation of Calcium crimson in hippocampus and
cortex of rats injected with Calcium crimson-AM .  There are also
electrophysiological recordings from brain slices of injected rats.
