We routinely use 2 - 4 day post-lactation mammary glands for our apoptosis positive controls.

Subject: positive control for apoptosis

Dear all--

Can anyone suggest a good tissue to use as a positive control for
apoptosis?  We've considered liver and testes but as nearly as I can
find from the literature, the proportion of apoptotic cells in those
organs in naive rats is pretty small.  Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
