I just acquired a DSU for live cell imaging. If price is no object
the laser systems are swell but if you are on a budget I think the DSU
is a reasonable device. It is my understanding that the CARVII is at
end of life. As for sensitivity, a CCD is a good bet.
Another nice aspect of a non-laser system is the flexibility of a
white light source. You never know if the next great fluor will meet
you laser lines. This might be esp the case in a multiuser set up.
