http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocalMagnification is increased with a 100x lens when compared to a 63x sure, but if you are using confocal then this isn't that important since you can digitally zoom in to get the same magnification. There are really no advantages of going to a 100x bjective if you have a high NA 63x available.
