Dear all
I can only echo George's post. CPRIT is a great funding opportunity if you want
to have a shot at cancer, but y'all have to come to Texas!
Besides MD Anderson, UT Southwestern in Dallas is also a great place to do
cancer research, with a steadily growing department of cell biology that has a
lot of drive and enthusiasm and the adjacent large university hospital for
collaborations. If you want to look at cancer cells, you can get patient derived
one, just as an example.
MD Anderson and UTSW have already recruited some great experts in the field
but there is room and money for more labs and talent.
I for my part enjoy shooting ultrafast lasers at cancer cells and tumors, partly
funded by CPRIT.
Best,
Reto
