It will also depend on the microscope setup. Our system contains an AOM an this contributes about 10,000 fs^2 to the overall GDD which is about 17000 fs^2. A 100 fs pulse would broaden to about 480 fs and a 70 fs pulse to 680 fs without pulse compensation. The spectra-physics Deepsee and Coherent Vision lasers have this built in but i can image that the pulse compensation has to be more carefully adjusted for the shorter pulse, but i have not used a 70 fs pulse yet.

If you are also getting a pulse compressor, get the 70fs laser. if you are
not getting a pulse compressor then get the 140fs laser.
