Hi folks,
We are looking into options to do the time gating of fluorescence signal in
confocal/STED microscopy. Besides the widely used TCSPC tech, it seemed
that using FPGA on NI DAQ card is getting popular. I found in this paper
and some others as well [F. GÄorlitz et al., "A STED Microscope Designed
for Routine Biomedical Applications", Progress In Electromagnetics
Research, Vol. 147, 57(2014)], NI R series board PCIe-7852R was used, and
the on board FPGA was employed to control the time gating. I am currently
using a PCI-6353 card, and I just realized that programming the Labview
with DAQmx and R series cards are so different and they are not compatible,
so my labview code would not work with this new card. At this moment, I
find it a bit difficult to start with using PCIe-7852R, and I think it's
gonna take me a while before I can get the labview code up and running
again. But before that happens, I thought maybe I can get some help from
the list. So would anyone be willing to share some thoughts or maybe even
pieces of example labview code if you are also using a R series card to
control your scanning microscopy setup with a photon counting detector? I
will certainly look for example codes online, mainly from the NI forum but
I have a feeling that I will have better chance here on the list.
Thanks in advance,
Lu
