we have both and I like them all. In particular the possibility
to switch them on and off as quickly as I want.
The Sola white light is the cheaper solution, the SpectraX allows fast switchting of LEDs. Ideal if you want to do fast multicolor with a quadband-Filter and the like. If you either do not need speed or want to use individual filter blocks for each channel anyway, or your microscope control software does not support switching of the SpectraX you can save money by using the Sola.
Without an at least dual band pass filter and the software
ability to switch excitation fast, I would not know what the
advantage of the SpectraX would be.

We are looking at upgrading our florescence light source and are considering the Spectra X vs Sola. I would like to hear feedback from users who prefer one vs another.
