Joystick stopped working (LSM710)

Problem after a problem...
The joystick for our LSM710 has suddenly stopped working.
I have restarted the instrument system, restarted the MCU2008 controller
box, but the problem persists.
I have checked the cable and even opened up the joystick to see the
mechanical parts, but I didn't find anything unusual (like loose or broken
wire).
Has anybody had the same problem?
I would appreciate any information that you may have.
I will contact Zeiss tech support meanwhile.
