We have consulted each other over decades, which developed into a friendship that I value highly. While it’s sad that our professional discussions are nearing an end, I look forward to hearing tales of you retirement. Hiking trips into the wilderness, search and rescue operations you are involved with. Maybe we’ll see you down under again soon.

I wish to thank everyone on this listserver for their helpfulness in answering my questions and the many informative discussions on microscopy and imaging. I’ve been subscribed since shortly after PC Cheng set up the server in his lab at SUNY Buffalo for users of the new-fangled confocal instruments. It created a community that expanded with field.
