OMERO access model

Hi All,

We have an OMERO server and provide free access to all those who use our microscopes. Lately, many people who do not use any of our instruments requested access to OMERO. We don't wish to turnback/discourage people from using OMERO. We have the infrastructure and are able to expand it to accommodate more people, but we don't have a model that would involve external people from outside the facility.  

How is this been handled elsewhere? If you have a model, could you please share? What's your experience? Are there any pitfalls? Any advice/comment is greatly appreciated.
