Mary & "All"

There is another option that is an ideal companion for dipping lenses that provides more functionality than a heated box.
The Bioptechs Delta T system uses an ITO coated glass bottomed dish that generates heat directly to the specimen without having to heat a box or the stage. Temperature is established and held steady within two minutes with a proprietary thermal control system that eliminates the wait time and equilibration time of warming a box. Although originally designed for inverted use the following accessories make it an ideal companion for dipping lenses. It has the option of an intermediate piece to facilitate perfusion and humidified CO2 if needed. There is also an atmospheric barrier ring that surrounds the objective to exclude ambient atmosphere from the specimen area. The barrier ring fits around the objective and slides on top of the dish, or intermediate adapter, for X,Y  translation and allows the dipping lens to come into focus on the specimen. It accommodates adherent cells, live tissue and artificial membranes. It can be used on both upright and inverted scopes with high N.A. lenses. Take a look at it and the many accessories that accommodate a variety of specialized imaging scenarios.

We have both the Prior Z deck, and the Piezo Z stages, though we found out that switching between the two is more difficult/time consuming than we first realized. Currently the Piezo Z stage is in place.

I tried to get a Tokai Hit demo but the unit is booked until April, 2020. I reached out to and got a quote for a similar unit from OkoLabs but now we are ready to purchase and I'm concerned about buying either units sight unseen or without vetting from people in the community. What are people's experience with these systems? Thanks in advance.
