Dear Nadine,
Thanks very much to you and the Core Facilities Managers group for coming up with these valuable recommendations. I still haven't received the advice I was waiting on from our local expert, probably because they are heavily in demand at this time so I very much appreciate this guidance.
In the light of these recommendations, I am rethinking our no gloves rule. I have already implemented the other recommendations except for wrapping the eyepieces in saran wrap. Minimizing training will be difficult for us at this time of year also given the low number of cases so far. However I expect that usage will drop anyway due to anxiety among our researchers and graduate students.
This document will also provide very useful support for our precautionary actions.

Dear all,
Core Facility Managers, who attended the "Trends in Microscopy - German
BioImaging Spring School" last week, held last Friday a spontaneous
workshop to discuss precautions of imaging core facilities to prevent
COVID19 infection of staff and users. The outcome of this workshop has
been summarized in recommendations by German BioImaging. I could not
