Hi Benjamin, it is probably too late my reply, but just in case:
I had once the same problem with the dipping cap. Actually, it was stuck, but because there was a tiny piece of tape between the objective lens and the dipping cap.
Basically, I removed the big lens from the microscope body, exert some gentle leverage with a large pair of scissors tackling the groove of the dipping cap, and I managed to remove it.
I would say it is not ideal the system how the dipping cap is attached to the lens especially when you need to remove it frequently (I actually prefer to remove the dipping cap every time we need to wash it).
Hope it helps,
best,
Alessandro

Dear list,
we own a Ultramicroscope II bought from LaVision BioTec and today tried
to remove a broken dipping cap. The cap was always attached very tight
to the microscope and hard to detach, but this time we are just not able
to loosen it.
Has anybody had the same issue before and knows a way how to get it off?
Thank you very much in advance,
Benjamin
