We use the following UPS setup to backup our 2-P workstations:
UPS:
https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/smart-app-sinewave/pr2200lcdrtxl2u/

Battery extension:
https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/extended-battery-modules/bp48v75art2u/

With this setup we can run the workstation for about 15 minutes with the
laser on (about 4 minutes without the battery extension), to give
enough time to safely save an experiment and shut everything down.  Once
the laser is on standby, the UPS can run everything else for hours.  As
others have said, the two major considerations are that you have enough VA
(2500 per high current laser system should be sufficient), and that the
output is a true sine wave, not an approximated one (approximated sine
waves can put unnecessary stress on power supplies for sensitive
equipment).
