OK, here is the result of my test.
University at Buffalo LISTSERV Server (15.5) [[hidden email]] Your message dated Thu, 12 Mar 2009 19:12:54 +1100 with subject "Test message" has been forwarded to the new address of the CONFOCAL list, [hidden email]. Please send future messages directly to [hidden email]. University of Minnesota LISTSERV Server (15.0) [[hidden email]] Your message dated Thu, 12 Mar 2009 19:12:54 +1100 with subject "Test message" has been successfully distributed to the CONFOCALMICROSCOPY list (2079 recipients). So the message was distributed once, and there was no duplicate posting. Can I suggest, as a result of this, that the problem will be fixed once and for all if the alias to the old list address [hidden email] is deleted? Surely it is no longer serving any purpose? Meanwhile, as a mischievous suggestion, those who want to avoid the annoyance of the double posting error message can do so by using the old address .... Guy, I did as you suggested some time ago and found nothing. But,
yesterday, with the help of the UMN Administrator, she found a listing that sent to [hidden email] which bounced to [hidden email] which bounced to [hidden email]. So I deleted the [hidden email] and I now hope the problem is solved. Write to me at [hidden email] or [hidden email] if anyone still experiences the duplicate posting problem.
