it is our pleasure to announce that registrations for the International Training Courses for Imaging Core Facility Staff organized within the Global BioImaging framework are now open!
Three advanced courses offer unique opportunities to core facility staff to improve their skillset in both facility operation and data management, while networking with peers internationally. Don’t lose this opportunity and register before June 15th to one (or more) of the following events:

The course in “Management and operation of imaging core facilities” provides an educational program for facility staff in the field of facility management and administration. It entails a session on soft skills training, one on best practices for building imaging facilities in the fields of biological and biomedical imaging as well as site visits to imaging centres.
The course on “Challenges in image data management and analysis” presents the capabilities and technologies currently available to imaging facility staff in the field of image data management and analysis. Awareness will be raised on the current challenges in the field and the course participants will be provided with a new set of tools (and references) that can be used tackle such challenges and improve their own facility’s working life.
The “GBI-ABiS international training course for BioImage Analysis” will focus on computational methods for analysing cellular images and extracting quantitative data from them. Its aim is to familiarise the participants with computational image analysis methodologies, and to provide hands-on training in running quantitative analysis pipelines. Young investigators, such as PhD students and postdoc, as well as assistant professors and imaging facilities technical staff are encouraged to apply.
IMPORTANT NOTE - FUNDING: For the two courses in Sydney, the Global BioImaging project can provide a limited number of travel grants to successful applicants from Europe (up to € 2.200). For the training course in Japan, a limited number of travel grants provided by ABiS will be awarded to applicants selected on the basis of their qualifications and fitness to the purpose of the course.
Since the number of places available for the courses is limited and in order to assign the travel grants, the applications will be evaluated and the successful applicants will receive an invitation to the course(s) at the beginning of July 2018.
