trouble opening .sld files with fiji/slidebook

Confocal folks,
                         I hope someone can help. My lab has access to a
spinning disk confocal made by 3i, which saves files as .sld files. A
postdoc in my lab has a PC that stubbornly refuses to open them. She has
installed the latest FIJI and Slidebook, in a configuration that works
just fine for other labmembers (on their PC's). Indeed those people can
open the files the postdoc saved. The problem seems to be her PC. It is
a Microsoft Surface Pro laptop, running Windows 10. When she tries to
open an .sld file she gets an 'out of bounds' error and then a long list
of subsidiary errors. We put in a query to 3i which has so far gone
unanswered. I hope someone can help. Many thanks, Tobias

Hi Tobias,

I just reviewed your postdoc's query in our case management system and I
realized that although a reply had been sent right away, unfortunately, it
was routed to the incorrect email address. I'll make sure it gets correctly
routed once again. Long story short, installing the latest version of
SlideBook (even if you aren't running it) is a quick and easy fix that
brings along for the ride some FIJI dependencies when we encounter these
odd anomalous scenarios.

Hi Tobias,

I believe I have run into this issue before a couple of years ago. Could you try to install Slidebook Reader from Help --> Update command? This should allow you to use the Bioformats importer without any issues.
