Dear list members, this is a question mainly addressing microscopy core facility managers/heads.
We are currently in the process of deploying iLab for our microscopy core facility and facing the one or the other issue. Therefore I would appreciate if core managers already using the software could get in touch with me (most probably
off-list as it is not the main topic of the list) and share their experience. Thanks for our input in advance. Best Arne --------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Arne Seitz |

We chose it at my last position (imaging facility manager, Van Andel Institute) after a competitive search for billing/management software. It works well, especially if you coordinate with other
cores. The more cores using it at once the easier it is on researchers. Having to learn different systems to use different cores can potentially be a barrier for occasional users of the facility. We had a few bugs getting started but the support from iLab
was helpful and prompt. Best,

We are about 3 months into new implementation over 6 cores. Overall, very happy. There is a huge learning curve, for core and for user.On Wed, Oct 5, 2016 at 5:55 AM, Feinstein, Timothy N <[hidden email]> wrote: ***** To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/ -- Best, Gary Laevsky, Ph.D. Director, Confocal Imaging Facility Nikon Center of Excellence Dept. of Molecular Biology Washington Rd. Our facilities have relied on iLab for nearly 3 years and it has served us well overall. They are extremely responsive to very customized issues associated with billing and reporting idiosyncratic accounting/reporting workflow issues that have had a measurable positive impact on our ability to effectively track and bill for usage. One client end feature that could be improved in a better mobile interface for scheduling.
