Image analysis Macros

Dear all,

Does anybody have a detailed document which would give a lead in writing macros for image analysis. Though I have a good experience in this feild, whenever i want to try something different i end up in making some minor errors in specific cases which i realise only after i have finished the analyisis of images and complie my data an look for trend.

thanking you.

having looked at what the programs offer at the moment, I would give up
the scripting part (especially as in IJ macros).
you can go a far way using Octave or Matlab (read a tutorial or book on
Matlab). for heavy stuff, pick up a book
on java.
