We moved one year ago to a more bling bling building with fantastic ventilation. The ventilation vents and pipes that are above us in the ceiling can create some regular background noise at times. The sound waves nicely push on the antivibration tables the way I would do if I wanted to test the tables. Our STORM and our cell picker system vibrate in unison... How cool is that? Therefore when building a room, I would in retrospect also check if what is hidden under the ceiling can be noisy. :( Med vänlig hälsning / Best regards Sylvie @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Sylvie Le Guyader, PhD Live Cell Imaging Facility Manager Karolinska Institutet- Bionut Dpt Hälsovägen 7C, Room 7362 (lab)/7840 (office) 14157 Huddinge, Sweden mobile: +46 (0) 73 733 5008 LCI website Follow our microscopy blog! -----Original Message----- From: Confocal Microscopy List <[hidden email]> On Behalf Of Arvydas Matiukas Sent: den 21 februari 2019 04:19 To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: (EXTERNAL) Re: Microscope Air Tables ***** To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy Post images on http://www.imgur.com and include the link in your posting. ***** I would add that different level of vibration dampening may be required depending on imaging application and especially pixel resolution . I guess that most cylinders in the air table scenario just sit there for many years without a thought as to their internal condition. |
