Dear Stan,

We briefly looked into "easyTIRF". Indeed, it is a 1-mm slide holder with integrated LED. Is there something specific you wish to know?

You might be interested to look at our lightguide- and prism-based TIRF geometries. They provide clean TIRF effect with SMD intensity of the evanescent wave: TIRF-Labs.com; TIRFmicroscopy.com.

Dear All,
do you happen to have any information regarding EasyTIRF?
Apparently it is some sort of low cost slide system with LED illumination for  TIRF.

All I can find is the title of a presentation:
"EasyTIRf: a low cost slide holder with integrated led illumination"  from University of Twente, Netherlands in the SPIE Photonics Europe 2016 Innovations Village competition https://spie.org/conferences-and-exhibitions/photonics-europe/photonics-innovation-village

Thank you!

Hi Alexander,
I was curious about technical details of the EasyTIRF design and how it might differ from the waveguide-based LED setup by Ramachandran et al: High performance, LED powered, waveguide based total internal reflection microscopy.

Hi Stan,

You might contact the inventor (University of Twente) for details. If you have a specific question -ask, I will try to answer. It is dissimilar to Ramachandran's design.
