Deal All,

Does anyone have any recommendations for remote desktop software I could use to connect to image analysis PCs over the internet?

Thanks,

Andrew Vaughan.

Hi

I use JumpDesktop

https://jumpdesktop.com/

which works remarkably well, the remote graphics display is impressive,
better than vnc for example

We are using Microsoft Remote Desktop.  This is the first semester of use and so far has worked well.  Dave

I use TurboVNC+VirtualGL to use 3D image analysis software (Avizo) on a
remote Linux machine. Great for cases where you need server-side 3D
rendering.

It works on other OSes too, I'm told.

I usually use AnyDesk

it's free, multiplatform, it doesn't require installation, it allows file transfer, it's light and higly performing

Best,

Hi Andrew

If Google Chrome browser has been installed, then I would recommend Chrome
remote desktop.
it is a plug-in https://remotedesktop.google.com/home

Work great in both Mac and PC. For dual-monitor setting, it might not be
perfect.

If it's a Windows 10 system using the Microsoft Remote Desktop will make

I like Chrome Remote Desktop because, in a pinch, I can access my systems
on my phone--literally did it from the beach once. On phone and desktop PC
it’s generally fast/smooth; highest single screen resolution I stream is
2560 x 1600 but also dual monitors (1 or 10Gbps source and 4G LTE or 20Mbps
on client side).

Do the other tools people mentioned have mobile apps?

Bomgar has a mobile app and has lots of features that would be overkill if you were only interested in remotely doing image analysis. It's been pretty handy for helping users unstick themselves on our scopes while in a different building.

At the very least MSTSC/Microsoft's remote desktop does for Android.
