I always add Jim Pawley's book of course, but we'd also like some that may be available on the web, perhaps as PDF, for easier access to the students. Would you have any suggestions?? Any help will be much appreciated! I warn you though that students tend to have a love/hate relationship with it, so depending on your group it may or may not be a good choice. It is available in dead tree or PDF form as well. I've suggested it in the past as a quick primer for follow-ups to my lectures and the students appreciated the comparatively low cost compared to traditional texts. I also make extensive use of the original microscopy web site that Mike Davidson set up at http://microscopy.magnet.fsu.edu. It's getting a little long in the tooth --some of the Java applets don't work as well as they used to, but I still find all of the information quite useful. Last I heard, Eric and company were trying to keep it functioning, and now there are all of the offshoots run by the microscopy companies themselves. Joel Joel B. It is called The Cell and although the beginning and end focus on basics of MCB and real-world application and issues, respectively, the core of the book is a series of chapters explaining topics like confocal, lightsheet, TIRF, FRAP etc. The book is aimed for the non expert and is largely qualitative and easily accessible for an undergraduate level student Please email me directly if you would like to discuss further and PARDON THE SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION Here are some links to the book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0FH3RM/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_CuJEybZN7X70Z https://www.benbellabooks.com/shop/the-cell/ https://m.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-cell-joshua-z-rappoport/1124984857 Thanks Josh -- Joshua Z.
