Hi All,

Does anyone out there know what happened to the University of Arizona
spectra database (spectra.arizona.edu)?  It is a great resource, but I've
been unable to connect to it for the last week or two.

Thanks!
Ben

Same here. Found this happened couple of weeks ago while I thought it was
my computer or our network... Would be great to have it back working!

Confocal List members - I did not see this go out today.  My colleague Dr. Utzinger asked me to get the word out about the Spectra Database at the University of Arizona:

The site got hacked and is now pointing to fake luxury stores.
Since I do not know what damage the site could cause on spectra users I decided to disconnect the system.

I am currently rebuilding it. It requires php, Adobe flash and SQL database and since I am not doing UNIX system administration as regular job it might take me a while to get it back working.

I already request new site hosting through university IT and today I am trying to get the system hard drive onto virtual disk so I can retrieve what is still there which would be simpler than rebuilding from backup.
As soon as I get that, I will be able to recruit support through the college IT group. These steps will hopefully move the system form outdated custom built server to the Unviersity could.

Thanks for your patience.
