User management system ("CRM") for core facility?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has implemented a user management system for their core facility?

I'm imaging something like a CRM system for business where you could track people, their interactions with the facility, projects, approvals, outputs etc?

Hi Adrian and List,

There is the PPMS system from Stratocore (http://stratocore.com). There is also the Idea Elan core facility and project management software (http://www.ideaelan.com).

There are other options but these two are the most flexible enterprise level solutions I've seen to date.

Best wishes,
James.

We are using PPMS here at the NIC Heidelberg, and are really happy with it!
(no commercial interest)
Nice interface and good possibilities, with the ability to create projects,
list the publications involving the facility and much more...

Best,

Nicolas

Hi Adrian

Have you tried Cirklo? http://www.cirklo.org/

Does anyone have any experience with it?

Dear all:

Do you know any reference for the dynamics of free GFP in FRAP experiments within mammalian cells? In particular, I'm interested in the t1/2 inside the nucleus.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Katherina

Katherina, we got a t1/2 value of 0.03 sec for cyotosolic GFP.  This
value was consistent with values quoted in a recent review in Trends in
Cell Biology by Sprague and McNally:
