Windows 7 logon/logoff software

Hello all;
        I've found old threads, but nothing for Windows 7. I am looking for software (free or inexpensive) that would track when users log on and off of Windows 7, 64 bit. This is how they log in to their own settings on our Nikon Elements software. All I need is time on, time off, and duration. No scheduling, no billing accounts etc, although it would be nice if I could have them assigned to a PI name's account. Most software I search for is way more sophisticated than what I need, or won't work on a 64 bit computer. I don't know how to write macros for Win7 Event Viewer.
        Any suggestions?
        Thanks in advance.

Kathryn,

Our facility IT support often faces this kind of pb. Although we use a
quite different system (for account billing purposes), that's one
possibility they quickly  thought about for you :

"A simple logon/logoff script may be useful.

open gpedit.msc and go to "User Configuration\Windows Settings\Scripts
(Logon/Logoff)"

for logon add a batch script with:

echo %username% log on at %date% %time% >> c:\user.log

and the same for logoff:

echo %username% log off at %date% %time% >> c:\user.log"
Hope that might help you.
Best regards

Logon Monitor from Greyware.com has a beta version out for Win7/Vista and they expect their final version to be ready in a few weeks.  I have used the XP version for years and it is simple, cheap, and so useful.  It's the only product on the market that just tracks logon/logoffs.  You would have to tailor the login name if you wanted to link to a PI.  We have a billing database with all the info and I also keep a simple spreadsheet with every user/PI/instrument that I can sort as needed.

No commercial interest, just a happy customer.

Thanks Carol;
        I tried this and it won't work on our 64-bit machine. Do you know if their new version will?
