http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Dear colleagues, at this moment we have some money to expend in books. Could you please recommend us books about light/fluorescence microscopy in general or specifically about confocal microscopy. We would prefer books with practical aspects and methods. We have a leica confocal LCS SL and two light an fluorescence microscopies and we are doing research in the are of biomedicine in a public institution. thanks a lot in advance Benito Alarcon Instituto de Biomedicina de Valencia CSIC. http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Hello, We have a short list of them in our Web page: http://www.cbm.uam.es/mkfactory.esdomain/webs/CBMSO/plt_Servicio_Pagina.aspx ?IdServicio=19&IdObjeto=155 There are obviously a lot more but this list may help you intially. You may also take a look to "Amazon.com". It is useful sometimes. Two books that come to mind for me are James Pawley's Handbook of Biological Confocal Microscopy and Alan Hibbs' book Confocal Microscopy for Biologists:
These books complement each other very well. Guy Cox has a recent book as well that I liked: And there's one book that's a bit older now but I used this a lot when I first started doing microscopy: Fundamentals of Light Microscopy and Electronic Imaging by Douglas B. Murphy. All of these books have some sections on practical aspects of running the instrument (especially Hibbs' book). And here's one more that's all about that: John Oreopoulos, BSc, PhD Candidate University of Toronto Institute For Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering Centre For Studies in Molecular Imaging Tel: W:416-946-5022 On 7-May-08, at 9:50 AM, Benito Alarcon wrote:

http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal I have a copy of Lakowicz's "Principles of Fluorescence Spectroscopy" and find it incredibly timely and useful. Also of note: Pawley's "Handbook of Biological Confocal Microscopy" Periasamy's "Methods in Cellular Imaging" Periasamy and Day, "Molecular Imaging, FRET Microscopy and Spectroscopy" At 08:50 AM 5/7/2008, you wrote: >Search the CONFOCAL archive at >http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal > >Dear colleagues, at this moment we have some money to expend in books. >Could you please recommend us books about light/fluorescence microscopy in >general or specifically about confocal microscopy.
