http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Hi, anybody knows if Metamorph windows background can be turned black so that light flood coming from the screen can be reduced? I am using MM 6.2.3 and find the default gray tone too bright. Especially annoying when one has to be switching from direct (eyepieces) and indirect (screen) observation. http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal The MetaMorph background color is controlled by the Windows Display Properties. Below is a description on how to change it for Windows XP (other Windows versions are similar though not exact). Steve Changing the Background Color for MetaMorph MetaMorph uses the current Windows color scheme to display the borders, title bars, and window background. When imaging in a dark room the normal windows settings be very bright. To reduce the excess light coming from the computer screen change the Windows' display properties to have a dark Application Background. These steps are for Windows XP home and pro. Other Windows versions are similar but may look a bit different. 1) Right click on your Window's desktop to get the Windows context menu and select the Properties option. 2) On the Display Properties window, go to the Appearance tab and click on the Advanced button. 3) On the Advanced Appearance window, select the 'Application Background' option from the Item drop down list. 4) When it is highlighted, the current background color is displayed in the Color 1 drop down list. Use the down arrow next to the color to change the background color to black. 5) Hit OK on the Advanced Appearance window, then Apply on the Display Properties window to make your changes take effect. -----Original Message----- From: Confocal Microscopy List [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of F Javier Diez Guerra Sent: Saturday, April 26, 2008 4:22 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [CONFOCAL] metamorph question Search the CONFOCAL archive at http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Hi, anybody knows if Metamorph windows background can be turned black so that light flood coming from the screen can be reduced? http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Dear MM users I do not have the answer but I am interested in somebody who runs the ASI stage successfully with the USB connection and virtual RS232 (com interface) provided by ASI within metamorph 7.1 thanks for comments.
