Hello all,

Does anyone have a favorite 561 nm-ex DNA dye for labeling tissue such as zebrafish embryos?  I love To-Pro-3 for confocal DNA analysis; it works more reliably than exciting DAPI with a 405 nm laser and it scatters so much less in tissue.  However this time I need to use a 561 nm laser.  Many thanks,

Tim

Well, I just saw these 'rainbow' Zebrafish on my news feed...

It is actually a very interesting model for visualizing skin changes and
regeneration.

Hi Timothy,
Lo-Pro-3 at 2-6 uM for 20 min labels live fish (labeling neuromasts), although its  broad spectra bled into the green channel a bit.
Never used the red Syto dyes on fixed fish.  Only in live fish, where they seemed to wander through the organellar membranes on their way to the nucleus.  LDS-751 also worked.
Yo-Pro-1 is very bright if you can use the 488 nm line.
